YSRC demands CBI probe into Tirumala fiasco

The YSR Congress party on Friday demanded inquiry by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the missing of invaluable jewellery and financial transactions in the Tirumala temple administration.

YSRC spokesperson Vasireddy Padma said in the last four years, the Chandrababu Naidu government has been laden with rampant corruption running into over Rs 4 lakh crore.

“The chief priest himself has alleged that there were a lot of irregularities in the management of Tirumala temple, indicating that Naidu’s corruption had extended even up to Tirumala temple,” she alleged.

She said the YSRC was demanding that a CBI inquiry should be ordered into the missing case of temple treasure from Tirupati.

“Playing with the sentiments of the people and with the precious ornaments of Lord Venkateswara, which were given by great rulers of the past and coming from generations together, would be foolish and Chandrababu Naidu stooping to such a low level shows how corrupt he has been,” Padma said.

When the head priest Ramana Deekshitulu has raised these questions, attempts are made to silent him by announcing retirement age, instead of answering the valid questions he has raised, she said.

“Chandrababu Naidu and his coterie are trying to establish their hegemony over the Tirumala Lord and such things do not go well in a society that has strong beliefs and likes. No political system can lord over temples, churches or mosques,” she said.

“We have earlier demanding CBI inquiry on 10 issues and the case of missing ornaments of Lord Venkatewara is the eleventh one,” she said.
