Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu received a very big post at a very young age. He was made the Union Minister for Civil Aviation, which is an important ministry.
He is also a three-time MP and carries the legacy of his father, the late Kinjarapu Yerran Naidu. Ever since he entered politics, he has been moving ahead with constant victories. Because of this, the Kinjarapu family continues to have strong influence in Srikakulam district.
After the 2024 elections, NDA formed the government at both the Centre and in Andhra Pradesh. In Srikakulam district, both the Central Minister post and the State Minister post went to members of the Kinjarapu family. Because of this, some dissatisfaction is slowly growing within the TDP.
Right now, Ram Mohan is facing trouble in his ministry because of issues connected to Indigo Airlines. Taking this as an opportunity, YSRCP leaders across Uttarandhra are targeting him strongly. They are accusing him of failing as a Union Minister and criticising him heavily.
Former minister Gudivada Amarnath, former Speaker Tammineni Sitaram, former Deputy CM Dharmana Krishna Das and several senior YSRCP leaders are continuously attacking Ram Mohan.
The surprising thing is that there are not many strong voices defending him from his own region. At the state level, TDP leaders are speaking in support, but in Uttarandhra, strong leaders coming forward to back the Union Minister are hardly seen.
Because of this silence within the party, YSRCP is freely attacking Ram Mohan and using this chance fully.
Till now, Ram Mohan had the image of a young and dynamic leader. Now, with so much criticism pouring in, he has the challenge of proving himself again and showing that he can overcome these attacks.
How he handles this situation will be closely watched.
