Chandrababu Naidu says that the first phase of the new capital will be completed by 2019 and it would include residential, commercial and government offices.
So, when will the second phase start and how many phases are there in all? How many generations will it take before the entire capital is complete? There is no blueprint or any sort of roadmap revealed yet.
Naidu says that Singapore will develop the master plan and Japan will implement it. What is the point in involving countries like Japan and Singapore if the process is going to take decades?
The entire capital construction may as well be outsourced to Naidu’s friends, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao or Sujana Chowdary if it is going to take that long.
Perhaps, Naidu’s election promise in 2019 is going to be: completion of phase 2 of capital city.
Anyways, judging by Naidu’s grandiose plans, it appears highly doubtful whether the present generation will live to see a new capital, complete in all aspects.
