Realizing that there was no point in fighting a battle that he could not win, YS Jagan stayed away from the GHMC polls and thereby saved himself some unnecessary expenditure.
But the notification for Khammam Municipal Corporation is due any moment now. Surely, Jagan will not think of skipping this poll too?
The T-sentiment is very weak here and three MLA’s were elected on a YSRCP ticket. They however shifted allegiance to the TRS later. The lone YSRCP MP from Telangana, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy represents Khammam. He is also the party head in Telangana.
After Hyderabad, Khammam has the largest number of Seemandhra people. Therefore, the YSRCP will look to consolidate on whatever advantage they may have in Khammam.
The Khammam municipal polls present an excellent opportunity for the party to make a fresh beginning in Telangana.
