Why So Much Interest In Sindhu, Not Farmers?

YSR Congress Party MLA R K Roja on Tuesday wondered why Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was showing so much interest in badminton player P V Sindhu, instead of on red chilli farmers.

Speaking at the Assembly media point after the special session of the assembly, Roja expressed surprise over the passage of a bill amending the rules so as to appoint Sindhu as the Deputy Collector.

“The farmers' lives would have improved if the state government showed one per cent out of the same interest being shown towards Sindhu,” she said.

Roja questioned the TDP government's commitment towards the farmers. Demanding that the government announce creation of Price Stabilization Fund for the benefit of farmers, the YSRCP MLA questioned the commitment of the government towards the farmers who are committing suicides and further warned that they would undertake agitations under the guidance of Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

She said she was ashamed of the way the special assembly session was conducted, as the TDP government completely turned a Nelson’s Eye towards the woes of farmers.
