The unexpected meeting of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy with Eenadu group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao on Monday evening is understood to have terribly upset the Reddy community, especially those who have been loyal to YS Rajasekhar Reddy family.
It was evident from the outburst of several YSR fans in the social media. They are not able to digest the fact that Jagan drove all the way to Ramoji Film City along with his a couple of his party leaders, ostensibly to take the “blessings” of the media moghul.
There were reports that Jagan was trying to make a last ditch attempt to get exemption from the court appearances in his alleged quid pro quo case and meeting Ramoji Rao to seek his help is part of his attempts.
However, Jagan fans are not taking his move kindly. They point out that it was Ramoji Rao who had tried to malign the image of YSR by planting negative stories against him and Jagan during the previous Congress.
Since Eenadu has a wide circulation, the reports created an impression among the people, especially neutrals and educated people that Jagan had indeed indulged in corruption.
They also pointed out that the Eenadu group continued to maintain a pro-Chandrababu Naidu stand for the simple reason that Ramoji Rao belongs to Naidu’s community.
“When it comes to protection of Kamma interests, Ramoji will be in the forefront. And he never hides his anti-Reddy feeling in the media. So, what message Jagan is going to send to the Reddy community by shaking hands with Ramoji and taking his blessings?” a netizen asked.
The netizens also recall how YSR had strongly attacked Ramoji Rao’s illicit deals through Margadarshi Finance company and how Jagan himself has exposed Ramoji’s blatant support to the TDP, calling him “Raja Guruvinda.” But now, people wonder what change Ramoji Rao had undergone in the last three years that made Jagan succumb to him.
“Does Jagan exclude Eenadu from the yellow media? It is better Jagan touch the feet of Narendra Modi 100 times since the latter might help him come out of the false cases. But what would he gain if touches Ramoji feet? Why should Jagan go to this hard core Kamma so many times?” asked Jagan fans.
