Why KCR is avoiding Rs 1,000 cr new Secretariat?

Why KCR is avoiding Rs 1,000 cr new Secretariat?

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao spent over Rs 1,000 crore to construct his 'dream Secretariat' in Hyderabad.

KCR even demolished the old Secretariat, which was fit to serve the needs for another few decades, saying that the old Secretariat had dangerous 'vastu defects.'

KCR built a grandiose Secretariat that is fully vastu-compliant at a cost of over Rs 1,000 crore.

He inaugurated the new Secretariat on April 30 and started working from the Secretariat on May 1. Everyone thought that KCR would work every day from his dream Secretariat.

But KCR worked from the new Secretariat for only about 15 days in May. Now, KCR has started avoiding even the new Secretariat from June 2.

KCR has been working back from Pragathi Bhavan since June 2. IAS officers, including the Chief Secretary and secretaries of various departments, are shuttling between the Secretariat and Pragathi Bhavan again, carrying files for CM's meetings and approvals.

IAS officers, in their internal discussions, are expressing ire over why the new Secretariat was built when the CM does not attend office and why they are forced to carry files to Pragathi Bhavan again to attend CM's meetings.

No one knows why KCR is avoiding even the vastu-compliant new Secretariat.

Rumours are circulating in BRS circles that KCR is avoiding the new Secretariat on the advice of a few vastu experts who noticed some vastu defects even in the new Secretariat, which need to be rectified.

They have reportedly suggested a few alterations to be made in the CM's chambers and some renovation works that may require minor demolitions if KCR wants to retain power for a third term in the Assembly polls to be held in December this year.

However, if any alterations or demolitions are made at this stage, it may invite the wrath of opposition parties as well as the people of Telangana, as the new Secretariat was constructed and inaugurated only recently by spending over Rs 1,000 crore.

For this reason, KCR decided to postpone the alteration works for a few weeks, and that's why he has not been coming to the new Secretariat.
