Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been visiting New Delhi very frequently with a set of representatives to various Union ministers and sometimes, even Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
But hardly anyone knows what the outcome of his meetings is. One wonders why there has been so much secrecy and confidentiality about Naidu’s Delhi visits, since the State has not got anything significant from the Centre despite his repeated meetings with Delhi bosses.
YSR Congress party suspects that Naidu, perhaps, must be taking up only his personal agenda with the Centre completely giving the public issues a comfortable go by.
"Whenever Naidu visits Delhi he says that he is taking up certain issues with the Centre but the final outcome is always kept as a top secret. Till now, the Chief Minister has made umpteen trips to Delhi but noting tangible has happened and the State did not get any benefits," party senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana told media persons here on Saturday.
The statements issued by the Chief Minister and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu on the special category status to the State are totally confusing and demanded both the leaders clearly spell out their stand on the demand so that the people too should have a clarity on their stand in the matter.
“Naidu does not appear to be mounting pressure on the Centre even for the implementation of the provisions mentioned in the State Reorganisation Act,” Botsa said and wanted to know what the purpose of the Chief Minsiter's latest Delhi visit was.
