A few stories had emerged in the past which claimed that on December 6, a list of names which were eligible for loan waivers would be released as announced by Chandra Babu Naidu.
However, a leading publication has mentioned that the list has already reached the banks.
Meanwhile, another interesting development is government’s media advisor Parakala Prabhakar saying that the list will be reaching the banks in a day or two.
Well, after the Chief Minister has announced the same, it is bound to raise eyebrows if the deadline is not met.
Reports from Andhra reveal that farmers in various areas approached banks to find out if their names figure in the list and many are said to have returned disheartened.
One prominent government official has said that the list was not sent online as they did not want to risk the list being hacked.
He said that the government did not want any changes made to the original list by mischievous elements.
Shouldn’t the CM have considered all these possibilities before making the announcement? Wouldn’t it draw criticism if official deadline is not met?
