What About 'gang of four' In YSRCP?

What About 'gang of four' In YSRCP?

In the recent past, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has been making a scathing attack on the main opposition – Telugu Desam Party, besides Jana Sena Party and the pro-TDP media houses like Andhra Jyothy, Eenadu and TV-5.

He has been describing TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Eenadu group chairman Ch Ramoji Rao and Andhra Jyothy MD Vemuri Radhakrishna as “Dushta Chatushtayam” (Gang of four) and a gang of dacoits, obstructing his welfare programmes.

One can understand the anger and anguish of Jagan. Since he knows who his enemies are, he might not be difficult to tackle this “gang of four.”

Moreover, there is no big problem from the so-called “yellow media,” as it has little impact on the poll prospects of any party.

In this era of social media which is playing aggressively, the role of the mainstream media to create anti-establishment is very minimal.

In 2019, too, the yellow media launched a negative campaign against Jagan and showered praises on Chandrababu Naidu, but could not prevent the humiliating defeat of the TDP. Not just Naidu, even the media lost its credibility.

Forget the TDP and its supporting media. What is matter of concern for the YSRC is the evil forces in the party and causing damage to it from within. This has been the topic of discussion within the party.

If one were to observe those who managed to get the nominated posts after the YSRC came to power in the state, it is clearly evident that except those in the coterie of Jagan, genuine leaders of the party have not got the recognition they deserved.

Some people are creating a hype for themselves by posting positive messages about Jagan and YSRC in the social media and projecting itself as a big service to the people. Their number is gradually growing in the party and the leadership, too, is giving them a lot of importance.

Many of those who worked hard before the elections by taking the party strongly into the people and helping it come to power are nowhere to be seen now.

Only those who appear in the social media, use foul language against the rivals and lavish praises on the YSRC leadership, are getting prominent posts.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, too, had to pay heavy penalty for encouraging such sycophants. He openly admitted the same, saying the party suffered losses only because of such people who had misled him in the past. He declared that he would not allow it to happen again.

It is better YSRC leadership, too, learns a lesson from Naidu’s mistakes. There is a section of people, who are able to get posts by pampering key leaders like Jagan, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, Vijay Sai Reddy, Y V Subba Reddy and Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.

But what about those who are the real followers of YSRC, YSR family and Jagan in particular, but are not able to meet the key leaders of the party?

The party leadership should be aware that their number is bigger in the party and only because of them, the party will succeed in the coming days.

At least now, the party leadership should discourage those who have lost connect with the people but are enjoying big posts. They should meet the genuine and sincere party leaders and cadre and listen to their anguish. They should give an assurance to them on their future.

It is better the party will make use of the “door to door campaign” to reach out to the real party leaders and cadre.

“There are several gangs in the party who are damaging the party from within. They should be weeded out and the real party workers should be given due recognition,” an analyst said.
