Viveka murder: Sharmila comes to Sunitha defence

Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s sister and president of YSR Telangana Party Y S Sharmila on Friday came to the defence of her cousin Dr Narreddy Sunitha in her fight for justice with regard to the murder of the latter’s father Y S Vivekananda Reddy three and a half years ago.

Sharmila was in Delhi to submit a dossier on the corruption allegedly indulged in by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government with regard to Kaleshwaram irrigation project to Comptroller and Auditor General of India.

Speaking to reporters later, Sharmila said the murder of Viveka was the most gruesome incident in her family.

“Whoever has murdered my uncle in such a gory manner should face stringent punishment and justice should be done to my cousin Sunitha,” she said.

The YSRTP president also found fault with the accused and their supporters for trying to create hurdles in the investigation being done by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

“Nobody should stall the investigation and such people should be punished,” she said.

The CBI submitted its affidavit to the Supreme Court, before it announced the transfer of Viveka murder case to another state.

The CBI mentioned the name of Kadapa MP Y S Avinash Reddy, saying he had barged into the court premises and tried to intimidate the investigating officers.

The CBI statement has now become a big weapon to the TDP to target the chief minister personally for allegedly trying to shield his party MP.
