The villagers of Undavalli were asked to attend a 'Grama Sabha' by the CRDA. There was absolute chaos at the meeting with villagers protesting against the allotment of developed plots.
While the best plots were apparently earmarked for corporates, the low-lying ones were allotted to the villagers.
The protesting villagers were warned by an SI on duty which further acerbated the situation. What most irked the villagers was that a roll call was being maintained by the authorities of those villagers who attended the meeting and those who abstained from it.
They apparently wanted to find out who was on their side and who wasn’t. This act scared the villagers and understandably for they feared the wrath of the government against those who were against it’s policies.
Not a single person has been arrested so far in the case related to the burning down of the farmers’ fields. Naidu’s reign of intimidation continues unchallenged.
