Vasantha getting ready to quit YSRC, to back TDP

It appears YSR Congress party MLA from Mylavaram Vasantha Krishna Prasad has made up his mind to quit the party sooner or later and join the Telugu Desam Party.

It was evident from the way followers of Krishna Prasad putting up flex hoardings all over Mylavaram with his pictures along with that of Nandamuri Balakrishna, actor and TDP legislator from Hindupur, apart from senior N T Rama Rao, the TDP founder.

The flexes and hoardings were meant for greeting the people of the constituency on the occasion of Sankranti festivities.

However, there was no sign of any pictures or name of YSRC president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy; nor were the party colours.

The followers of Krishna Prasad also celebrated in a big way the release of Balakrishna’s film Veera Narasimha Reddy on Thursday.

“The flexes and hoardings clearly indicated which way the MLA is inclining to. It is nothing but provoking the YSRC leadership to take action against him,” a YSRC leader said.

For the last few days, Krishna Prasad has been giving hints that he might not continue in the party for a long time by making controversial statements causing embarrassment to the high command.

He is unhappy with the way MLAs and ministers from other constituencies dictating terms to him and poking their noses in the Mylavaram constituency.

“Somehow, I am getting the feeling that I have made a mistake by entering politics and becoming MLA. I am not able to do politics of vengeance by taking a group of vagabonds along with me, like some of my colleagues are doing,” the MLA said.

Stating that he had inherited dignified politics from his father Vasantha Nageshwara Rao, the YSRC leader said he had realised that such kind of politics had become outdated at present.

“If I have to sustain in politics, I have to behave like a rowdy. That is why, I ended up being an old-time politician,” he said.

Senior YSRC leaders including MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy, Marri Rajasekhar and Vellampalli Srinivas met Krishna Prasad on Wednesday to pacify him, but he is said to be reluctant to continue in the party. “Sooner or later, the party might show him the door,” sources said.
