Telangana Minister for Roads and Buildings Tummala Nageshwar Rao has once again proved that he is no less arrogant and headstrong than his boss and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.
On Friday, Tummala, in an interview to TV9, declared that he would not support the candidature of IT minister K T Rama Rao, son of KCR, as the next Chief Minister.
“I am against the hereditary politics. I am against KTR being announced as heir apparent of KCR. I will stand by KCR as the Chief Minister, but not KTR. For that matter, I won’t encourage my son, too, to enter politics as my political heir,” Tummala said.
He, however, tried to do a little damage control over his remarks that might trigger a political stir in the party.
He said if KTR really had the mettle to become the Chief Minister on his own without claiming the legacy of his father, nobody could stop him from becoming the CM.
Tummala has now been declared as the TRS official candidate for the by-poll to Palair Assembly constituency in Khammam district.
Ironically, KTR has been announced as the party in-charge for the election of Tummala. It remains to be seen how KTR would react to Tummala’s comments.
Tummala is known for his aggressive politics in Khammam district and quite often, he loses his tongue, hurling abuses at the officials and fellow politicians.
And KCR is also facing a lot of criticism for selecting Tummala as the party candidate for Palair bypolls bypassing other loyal party leaders.
