Tough time for Brahmananda Reddy in Nandyal!

Tough time for Brahmananda Reddy in Nandyal!

As expected, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu finalised the name of Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy as the party candidate for the ensuing by-election to Nandyal assembly seat.

Brahmananda Reddy happens to be cousin of Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya and for quite some time, she has been lobbying for his nomination, after her sister refused to come into active politics.

His was the only name to be considered for the by-election.

However, party sources say it is not so easy for Brahmanand Reddy to win the Nandyal boils, because of the tough fight from YSR Congress party.

Had it been Akhila’s sister, the sympathy factor would have worked to some extent, but since Brahmanand Reddy happens to be nephew of late Bhuma, the sympathy would get diluted.

Secondly, there are troubles within Nandyal TDP, as many of the TDP loyalist who have been in the party right from the beginning, are not supporting Brahmanand Reddy nomination, because he, along with Bhuma and Akhila, were the late entrants into the party.

Bhuma’s own loyalists like A V Subba Reddy are now opposing his candidature.

Thirdly, if YSR Congress party gives him the party ticket, Shilpa Mohan Reddy, who left the TDP as unable to adjust in the party, would definitely give a touch fight to Bhuma family member.

He would use all his experience and tricks to win the seat. So, Naidu has to pull his best efforts to get Brahmanand Reddy elected.
