Popular Telugu actor Fish Venkat, renowned for his comedic roles and distinctive Telangana accent, passed away on July 18, 2025, following complications from severe kidney and liver failure.
Born Venkat Raj, the actor had been undergoing regular dialysis for several months and was recently placed on a ventilator as his condition rapidly declined.
His daughter, Shravanthi, had previously appealed for financial assistance, revealing that a kidney transplant estimated at ₹50 lakh was urgently required.
While social media circulated false reports that actor Prabhas had stepped in to help, the family later clarified that those claims were part of a scam.
Nonetheless, several members of the film industry—including actors Pawan Kalyan and Vishwak Sen, along with a Telangana government minister—offered financial aid.
Despite continued medical treatment and public appeals, a suitable kidney donor could not be found in time, and his health worsened.
Fish Venkat’s passing has left the Telugu film fraternity in shock. Known for his memorable roles in films like Gabbar Singh, Adhurs, and DJ Tillu, he carved a niche for himself with impeccable comic timing and a signature screen presence.
