A Telugu Desam Party leader holding a key position in Nandyal municipality has allegedly sent an obscene video film to a WhatsApp group comprising mostly women councillors.
The incident came to light when the councillors lodged a complaint with the higher authorities and also senior leaders of the party.
According to the reports, the TDP leader sent the video with vulgar scenes to the WhatsApp group late on Tuesday night. The video comprises some nude scenes of a dancer and that embarrassed the councillors.
Since the women councillors also belonged to the TDP, they didn’t approach the police but complained to the higher party leaders.
The TDP leader said somebody had sent the video to him and he inadvertently shared it to the WhatsApp group. The women councillors, however, were not happy with his explanation.
“He should have apologised in the group even before we lodged a complaint,” a councillor said.
