TDP Conceding Defeat Before Counting?

It is still two more days to go for the counting of votes in Telangana assembly elections, but the Telugu Desam Party seems to have conceded defeat well in advance.

It was evident from the statement of Telangana Telugu Desam Party general secretary and former MP Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy on Saturday.

He said his party was not overwhelmed by the exit polls conducted by former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajgopal predicting Maha Kootami's win nor would the results affect the party in any way.

“Our party president N Chandrababu Naidu has always maintained that the TDP will never care about votes and seats. It will work only for the welfare of the people irrespective of victory or defeat,” he said.

Ravula alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and caretaker chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao had indulged in gross manipulations in elections, which were not conducted in a free and fair manner.

He demanded an inquiry into irregularities that had taken placed during polling in several places.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party floor leader in the assembly P Vishnukumar Raju predicted that the TDP would receive a big blow in Telangana assembly elections.

“All the Andhra TDP leaders will go into depression after the announcement of the poll results on Tuesday,” he said.

He also predicted that Naidu would hold a press conference and express his regrets for entering into poll alliance with Congress.
