Sycophancy At Its High When Balayaa Met Minister!

Sycophancy At Its High When Balayaa Met Minister!

The culture of sycophancy and servility has always been part of the Indian politics. While no party is immune to culture of sycophancy, what is shocking is that some leaders are even forgetting that they are holding 'constitutional posts' which requires to maintain a certain level of decency and decorum, in their bid to please the party high command.

Recently, tollywood hero and Hindupur TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna came to Andhra Pradesh Secretariat in Hyderabad to meet AP endowments minister P Manikyala Rao to discuss on development works in his constituency.

While this is a routine process in Secretariat where several MLAs meet ministers every day on their constituency works, Balayya is not an ‘ordinary MLA’ like other. He is none other than “Viyyankudu” of AP CM N.Chandrababu Naidu and a popular tollywood hero by himself.

As soon as he entered the minister’s chambers, the minister stood up and offered his ‘official chair’. But Balayya sat in the chair meant for visitors seeing media there anticipating trouble later if he occupies minister’s chair.

After the meeting, the minister and Balayya addressed a press conference. Again, the minister offered the ‘special chair’ meant for minister for Balayya, when he occupied the ‘normal chair’. Balayya again refused.

With this, the minister pushed the ‘special chair’ backwards and brought another ‘normal chair’ to the front besides Balayya and sat on it. The minister was seen looking comfortable sitting in the normal chair like Balayya.

Officials and media were shocked to see the open display of sycophancy by the minister, though he belonged to BJP and sharing power with TDP as an alliance partner.

They say the minister was worried that if he is not in the good books and looks of Balayya, he may pass on the same to his ‘viyyankudu’ and CM Chandrababu Naidu which may pose a threat to his place in the cabinet or get a good posting in cabinet in the coming days.
