He credited Naidu with developing Hyderabad and having the vision to develop Andhra Pradesh by 2047.
Social media activists took Rajnikanth to task for these remarks and dug up some old photographs related to the superstar.
Some have recalled how Rajnikanth cheated actress Silk Smitha, who committed suicide at a young age.
Others have brought photographs of Rajnikanth taking the side of Chandrababu Naidu during the 1995 August coup against N T Rama Rao.
While the Silk Smitha episode was used to define Rajnikanth's character, the 1995 coup is being used to expose his relationship with Chandrababu Naidu.
Rajnikanth started his speech by stating that wisdom tells you what to speak, age tells you how to speak, and the audience tells you when to stop.
However, it seems that he had lost his wisdom when he spoke about Chandrababu Naidu on the dais, where they were expected to pay homage to late NTR.
