Despite the High Court giving a stay on the suspension of Roja, she was denied entry into the Assembly premises.
The Marshal refused her permission to enter as he did not have written permission from the Speaker of the Assembly, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao.
Now Kodela Siva Prasada Rao is probably the bad Speaker in the history of Andhra Pradesh, blatantly acting as a TDP man rather than upholding the dignity of his chair.
His whole behavior in the Roja episode only reinforces this. When the High Court has issued a stay on the suspension of Roja, as the Speaker, the right thing to do would have been to allow Roja back in the Assembly and then contest the High Court judgement again.
Once the judgement comes out, there would be a final clarity on whether the judiciary is empowered to interfere in resolutions passed by elected representatives. That would have been the apt thing to do.
By not doing so, Kodela has shown poor judgement and disgusting favoritism.
