Andhra Pradesh Congress party president Y S Sharmila, sister of YSR Congress party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is struggling to make a mark in the state politics and breathe a new life into the beleaguered Congress party.
Now, there are speculations in the political circles that her son Y S Raja Reddy is also contemplating entering politics.
On Monday, Raja Reddy is visiting the Kurnool onion market along with his mother.
According to sources, Sharmila’s son went to his grandmother Vijayalakshmi and had taken her blessings at her residence.
On February 17, Raja Reddy got married to his girlfriend Atluri Priya and the wedding was held at Jodhpur palace in Rajasthan.
Sharmila hosted a grand reception for the newly-wed couple in Hyderabad on February 24, which was attended by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and party general secretary KC Venugopal, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others.
However, there were no indications then about Raja Reddy’s interest in politics. But now, speculations are going on about his political plans following his visit to Kurnool market yard to express solidarity with onion and tomato farmers.
Sharmila made it clear that until a Minimum Support Price (MSP) is announced for onions, the Congress party would continue to fight on behalf of farmers.
She appealed to farmers, leaders, and party workers to attend the program in large numbers and make it a success.
