SCS is going to be YSRC's main poll agenda!

YSR Congress party on Thursday made it clear that it would go to the next assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh on the plank of achieving special category status to the state.

At the day-long “Vanchana Pai Deeksha” (protest against betrayal of the state) at Guntur, the YSRC MLAs, MLCs, former MPs and other senior functionaries vowed to fight for the special category status and implementation of all the promises made in AP bifurcation act.

Former MP from Nellore Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy said both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telugu Desam Party had betrayed the people of the state.

“The BJP ditched the people by denying the status and backtracking on its promises, while the TDP had miserably failed to achieve any of the promised projects to the state during its association with the BJP for four long years.

TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has taken a U-turn on special category status during the election year,” he said.

Party MLC and official spokesperson Ummareddy Venkateshwarlu demanded that chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu tender an unconditional apology to the people for his inefficiency in securing benefits to the state during his four-year association with the BJP.

He said Naidu should be booked and prosecuted for cheating the people all these years with false promises.

Another former MP Y V Subba Reddy said while the Congress had betrayed the people by dividing combined Andhra Pradesh indiscriminately, the BJP had cheated the people by denying the special category status.
