Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to be extremely disappointed with media baron and his once-upon-a-time mentor Ch Ramoji Rao for not coming to his rescue when the Opposition YSR Congress party is virtually ripping him and his party apart in the recent past.
While Sakshi, the media house owned by YSR Congress party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy wrote stories running into reams and reams of pages on the alleged illegal land transactions in and around Amaravati, there was not a single positive story in Eenadu to counter the allegations.
While Jagan’s allegations were given enough coverage, if not wide, in Eenadu, the government’s reactions were not given the due coverage.
In fact, Eenadu, of late, has been giving a lot of importance to national stories particularly highlighting Modi. Naturally, it has not attached much importance to the political mudslinging by Jagan and Naidu groups.
Though Andhra Jyothy has been doing its bit to defend Naidu, it has also not produced any big stories to counter Sakshi’s allegations.
The TDP supremo is learnt to have commented before his close confidants that both the Telugu dailies, particularly Eenadu, disappointed him a lot. And without their support, it is not possible to take on Sakshi, he observed.
