The Telangana Congress party’s plan to rejuvenate the cadre and come out with an action plan to take on the mighty Telangana Rashtra Samithi by brining party’s vice president Rahul Gandhi to Telangana has gone for a six with the latter not evincing much interest.
Rahul Gandhi was originally proposed to address a public meeting in Warangal on November 20, but he postponed it on the pretext of Gujarat elections.
Later, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) proposed to hold the public meeting on December 9, after his election as the president of AICC.
The TPCC even canvassed that Rahul’s first meeting after taking over as AICC president would be in Telangana.
But, till now, there is no confirmation from Rahul. Sources said soon after his elevation as the party chief, Rahul would focus on reconstitution of the AICC. So, the chances of Rahul attending the December 9 meeting are remote.
This has dampened the spirts of the TPCC leaders, who are looking for some stimulation to the party cadres.
Even the newly inducted leaders like A Revanth Reddy are desperately looking up to Rahul Gandhi’s meeting, so that they would get the people’s attention. But, that is how the Congress party works!
