Kavuri Samba Siva Rao and Daggubati Purandeswari were at the peak of their political careers with both of them enjoying life as Central Ministers in the UPA regime.
Then bifurcation happened and both of them had to quit their posts rather unwillingly and later, the Congress party for obvious reasons.
Bifurcation made Congress an untouchable in Andhra Pradesh and Kavuri and Purandeswari switched their loyalties to the BJP which was thriving on a Modi wave and had promised SCS to AP after coming to power. But four years down the line, things have again changed dramatically for the duo.
The BJP now finds itself in a desperate position in AP because of the successful media campaign by the TDP and the situation for Purandeswari and Kavuri is similar to the one they faced in Congress after bifurcation was announced.
Public anger against BJP is at an all-time high and contesting the 2019 polls might not yield the expected results. Where else can they go from here?
