There's no denying Mahesh Babu’s popularity in the overseas market. He is in fact the undisputed king of overseas box office. But Pawan Kalyan clearly dominates Mahesh in the domestic circuit.
Mahesh Brahmotsavam’s pre release business is less compared to that of Pawan Kalyan’s Sardaar Gabbar Singh.
Mahesh’s previous film Srimanthudu was a blockbuster and Brahmotsavam is directed by Srikanth Addala who has already delivered a super hit SVSC with the superstar. However Sardaar Gabbar Singh pre release business is huge in spite of relatively new director Bobby at the helm.
SGS Nizam distribution rights were bought by Indra films for 21 crore. Buyers have come forward to buy Nizam rights of Brahmotsavam for 15 to 17 crore but the producer wasn’t happy with those offers. He decided to release on his own through Dil Raju.
Not just in Nizam, SGS has upper hand on Brahmotsavam in Andhra Pradesh too.
Brahmotsavam is getting better offers from overseas buyers but when it comes to the local market, Pawan Kalyan is definitely ahead of the superstar.
Brand Gabbar Singh and mass appeal may have a role to play in this but according to the trade, SGS is the clear favorite among summer releases.
