No LP, no Viceroy episode in NTR biopic!

No LP, no Viceroy episode in NTR biopic!

For the last few days maverick film maker Ram Gopal Varma has been creating tremors in the film industry with the announcement on his forthcoming film on legendary actor and former chief minister N T Rama Rao with the perspective of his widow Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi.

That the film is being produced by a YSR Congress party leader Rakesh Reddy and firebrand actor-MLA R K Roja is interested in acting in the film has added spice to the reports on the film. So far, it is not known which actor would play the role of NTR.

However, senior actor and NTR’s son Nandamuri Balakrishna is also silently and swiftly making arrangements for the biopic on his late father.

He has finally confirmed that director Teja will make the film under the banner of Brahma Teja Productions. It is being produced by Vishnu Induri and Sai Korrapati, apart from Balakrishna himself.

Apart from nominal and reasonable remuneration, Teja will also have a share in the profits. He has also received token advance from Vaarahi production house.

While Balakrishna has roped in popular music director M M Keeravani for give the background score and songs, the other cast and crew would be finalised by this month end.

Reports are that Balakrishna has taken this project very prestigiously. Unlike that of Varma, Balakrishna’s film would be a full-fledged biopic on NTR covering all major aspects of his life, starting from his childhood. However, the climax is likely to be very abrupt.

It will end with NTR returning to power in 1984 within months of his dethronement through the infamous coup by former chief minister Nadendla Bhaskar Rao.

It does mean Balakrishna will not show the episodes of NTR losing power in 1989, his marriage with Lakshmi Parvathi, his return to power in 1994, the infamous backstabbing by present TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and finally his death.

So, what Balakrishna will avoid in his film would be shown in Varma’s film!
