Is Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s wife, Nara Bhuvaneshwari, showing interest in direct politics?
Within TDP circles, many believe the answer is yes. Her recent four day visit to Kuppam, where she interacted closely with the public, has triggered discussions about her growing political involvement.
However, the reasons behind her activity go beyond simple political ambition.
Chandrababu Naidu, being the Chief Minister, is currently fully occupied with the administration of the state.
His son, Minister Nara Lokesh, is equally busy handling his own constituency, Mangalagiri. This situation creates the risk of Kuppam being left without constant personal attention.
If Naidu assigns the responsibility of the constituency to someone outside the family, people may still feel neglected and that new person could misuse the position or play internal power games.
To avoid such a vacuum and to maintain continuous engagement with the people of Kuppam, Bhuvaneshwari has stepped forward.
Earlier, there was strong criticism that Chandrababu did not focus enough on Kuppam. In response, he even built a house there to demonstrate that Kuppam is more important to him than just a political base.
Bhuvaneshwari’s active presence now supports that effort by ensuring that the constituency receives attention at all times.
Her public involvement began earlier when she took to the streets after Chandrababu’s arrest, visiting villages and demanding justice.
Many assumed that once TDP returned to power, she would return to her business responsibilities.
Instead, she continues to stay in the public eye, congratulating party workers, interacting with local leaders, and touring various areas in her role as the Managing Trustee of the NTR Memorial Trust.
With Chandrababu, Lokesh, and now Bhuvaneshwari all actively engaging with the public, discussions are growing about what role she might take in the future.
