Naidu's Speech At UN Was Full Of Lies

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s speech at the United Nations conference on the state of organic or nature farming in Andhra Pradesh was full of blatant lies.

This was stated by YSR Congress party senior leader and MLA Gadikota Srikanth Reddy. He said Naidu had tried to push under the carpet the fact that the farmers in the state were passing through the worst agrarian crisis by claiming that organic farming was being done in two crore acres.

He said by speaking such blatant lies, Naidu was demeaning Andhra Pradesh and was damaging its prestige.

He alleged that Naidu was talking about organic farming as he need not give any input subsidy, insurance or even support price.

“It is strange that is talking of agriculture after fully damaging the farm sector. It is like devil quoting scriptures,” he said.

Srikanth Reddy said according to the socio-economic survey released by the Government, only 61000 hectares are under organic farming. Also, the Government has claimed that it will bring 5 lakh hectares under organic farming by 2022.

"AP stands sixth in the consumption of manures in the state,” he pointed out.

He further said that the farmers were committing suicides in AP and thousands of acres was left untilled. But unmindful of all these, Naidu was trying to create a false hype over his speech.

He has spoken in a side hall of the UN, but is claiming as if he has spoken in the main hall.

“This is nothing but sheer greed for publicity and Naidu is duping the people of the state,” Srikanth Reddy said.
