Naidu trying to hush up bus mishap case

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying hard to hush up theTuesday’s bus accident at Mullapadu village of Penuganchiprolu mandal in Krishna district in which 11 passengers died and 40 others received injuries.

Reason: the bus belongs to Diwakar Travels owned by TDP MP from Anantapur J C Diwakar Reddy and his brother J C Prabhakar Reddy, also a TDP legislator.

“Naidu government is obviously trying to protect the TDP leaders and that is why, no action is being against the promoters,” YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy said.

When Jagan rushed to the spot on coming to know about the accident, the authorities hurriedly removed the bus from the spot without giving him a chance to inspect it.

The local TDP leaders tried to prevent him from entering the hospital at Nandigama to interact with the injured and families of the deceased.

Jagan accused the TDP government of trying to shield its leaders, who own the ill-fated bus. He said ruling party MPs JC Diwakar Reddy and Kesineni Nani own a fleet of buses and flout all norms.

"They use the same number plate for many vehicles. They flout all rules," he said.

He demanded that government make the Diwakar Travels to pay Rs 20 lakh to the kin of each of the deceased. He said the authorities did not examine whether the driver was drunk at the time of the incident.
