My Home chief to join BJP formally?

It appears to be more or less certain that My Home Group chairman and co-promoter of TV9 media house Jupalli Rameshwara Rao is going to join the Bharatiya Janata Party formally soon.

According to the BJP sources, Rameshwar Rao is going to meet BJP national president J P Nadda at Hotel Novotel at Shamshabad international airport at around 6.50 pm and will have one-on-one discussions.

This led to the speculation that the My Home chief is preparing ground to join the BJP any time.

He might also be one of the chief sources of funding for BJP candidate Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy in the ensuing by-election to Munugode assembly constituency in Nalgonda district.

Though Rameshwar Rao had been maintaining close relations with the BJP top bosses after the episode of the inauguration of Statue of Equality by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Jeeyar Ashram in Muchintal on the city outskirts in February, he had never hobnobbed with the BJP leaders openly.

So, this will be the first time that the My Home boss is meeting the BJP national president and hold discussions.

There were reports some time back that Rameshwar Rao might be nominated to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka or UP, but it did not happen.

Now, if he formally joins the BJP, he might get such a chance at least in the next Rajya Sabha elections. His entry would also strengthen the financial roots of the BJP in Telangana.

It is an open secret that Rameshwar Rao parted ways with Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao after the Muchintal episode.

KCR was angry with Rameshwar Rao for praising Modi and refusing to acknowledge the help of the TRS government.

The KCR government has also tried to create troubles for his Maha Cement factory expansion in Mellacheruvu in Nalgonda district a couple of months ago. But it could not succeed in its attempts.
