Mudragada Meets Chowdary: What's Up?

In a surprising development, former minister and Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham on Monday went to the residence of senior TDP leader and Rajahmundry MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary and closeted with him for some serious discussions.

Apart from Gorantla, Mudragada also had a meeting with BJP legislator Akula Satyanarayana. These meetings kicked up a lot of speculations in the political and media circles, apart from raising a lot of curiosity.

While a section of media says there is no specific political significance to Mudragada’s meeting with Gorantla, others say there is something fishy in the meeting.

Mudragada, who used to go aggressive in attacking TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu till recently, has deferred his agitation till December.

May be, Naidu has deputed Gorantla to negotiate with Mudragada to drop the agitation, as he assured to take a positive decision on inclusion of Kapus in the BCs.

Another section says Mudragada is seeking the cooperation of all the party leaders in getting the long pending demand fulfilled. May be as part of that, he might have called on Gorantla. May be there could be a compromise between the two groups.

Apparently, Mudragada has realised that his agitation has lost the steam because of the repeated postponements and Naidu has successfully weaned away majority of the Kapu leaders by offering sops.

That is why he must be trying to find an honourable solution to the issue.
