The sensational multi-thousand crore Miyapur land scam involving fugitive Goldstone Prasad is most likely to go the way of slain Maoist-turned-gangster Mohd Nayeemuddin’s case, going by the way the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government is dealing with the case.
In the case of Nayeem, who was killed in a police encounter after amassing huge wealth, the Telangana government allowed the case to fizzle out quietly.
Except suspending a few lower-run police officials, the government did not come out with any action against the IPS officers and politicians whose links with the dreaded gangster were out in the open.
The diary of Nayeem containing the names of top police officials and politicians has never seen the light of the day.
The police informed the court that there was no evidence against any politicians or police officials getting benefits from Nayeem. And the case is more or less closed now and those who made millions using Nayeem are now safe.
Similarly, the Miyapur land scam created a furore in political circles with several names, including the top TRS leaders, have come out. But so far, no action has bene taken against them.
As happened in the case of Nayeem, the government suspended a few sub-registrars who had helped the big people to make huge money.
And the people who looted public money are never going to get exposed, with the TRS government shielding them.
