Anantpur, Kadapa, Chittoor and Kurnool comprise the four districts of Rayalaseema. The backwardness of the region has spawned faction-lords over the decades who keep people in a vice like grip.
Majority of youngsters choose either Chennai or Bangalore for a better life. But not everyone can be that lucky! Following the bifurcation, people of the region were hopeful of a better deal from the politicians.
But barring Kuppam, no other constituency in Rayalaseema seems to merit the CM’s attention.
Nevertheless, despite this official apathy, solutions will have to be found out to streamline the administration in Rayalaseema.
One way could be to increase the number of districts in the region with headquarters at Nandyal and Tirupati and perhaps even Guntakal and Kadiri.
That would help towards empowering the smaller towns and villages of the region. it would be a start!
