Wisdom seems to have dawned upon Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and IT minister K T Rama Rao at last.
Though KTR looks a simple politician, he loves to enjoy the attention of people and get the publicity.
And since he is already known among the people as the heir apparent of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, people do all sorts of tricks to please him.
Whenever there is an occasion, one can find huge cut-outs and posters of KTR and if it is his birthday, newspapers are flooded with advertisements from his fans and TRS leaders extending greetings to him.
This time, somehow, KTR has decided against getting much publicity for his birthday which falls on July 24.
He has already requested his fans and followers not to spend huge money on cutting cakes, giving advertisements, putting up banners and hoardings with his cut-outs and indulge in other forms of extravaganza.
He told his followers that his 41st birthday would be a very simple affair and he wants to maintain a very low profile hereafter.
So, instead of wasting money on bouquets and other publicity material, he asked the TRS leaders and followers to plant saplings under Haritha Haaram programme.
At the most, they can distribute fruits among patients in hospitals and take up blood donation programmes.
Accordingly, the TRS cadre is said to be planning to conduct blood donation camp, distribution of fruits to patients in government hospitals and also food distribution to poor on the occasion.
