Kodela Sees Conspiracy In Rain Water Leakage!

Surprising as it might sound, the Telugu Desam Party government is trying to turn tables on YSR Congress party, instead of admitting the faults in the hasty construction of interim secretariat at Velagapudi in Amaravati, which was inundated by heavy rains on Tuesday.

Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao on Wednesday sought to project the rain water leakage in the chambers of the Leader of the Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy as a political conspiracy. He ordered a CID probe into the episode.

It is nothing but natural that YSR Congress party tried to take political mileage by pointing out the major lapses in the hasty construction of the secretariat complex and raised a pertinent question as to what would be the fate of the new capital Amaravati, once completed, if there are heavy rains in future.

Instead of addressing these issues, Kodela tried to throw the blame on YSRC.

“The leakage happened only in the room under occupation of the leader of the opposition. If there are quality issues in the construction, similar leakages should have been reported in other chambers as well,” he argued.

He said the Roads and Buildings department officials checked the building thoroughly since Tuesday evening and identified that a 20 mm pipe on the second floor, that connects to the AC machine was purposely cut.

“I have ordered a CID probe to bring the facts to light”, the Speaker told the media in Amaravati.

On the other, YSR Congress legislators tried visiting Jagan’s chambers on Wednesday morning. But, they said they were denied entry into the Assembly premises.
