KCR Responsible For Farmers' Suicides

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Laxmaiah on Saturday alleged that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao  had failed to  instill confidence in the farmers, who were in distress.

The TPCC Chief said that the lackadaisical attitude of KCR on issues of farmers was leading to their suicides.

He pointed out that suicides of farmers were continuing in Telangana State. He said that 174 farmers committed suicides during the 100-days rule of KCR government.

First of all, KCR should tender an apology to the farmer community for this, he demanded.

“He should also offer an  apology to families of Telangana martyrs, students and contract employees as the latter failed to implement the promises made to them”, he said.

Reacting on the statement of Telangana Chief Minister that the sarpanches, who would not work effectively, would be sent home, the TPCC president questioned as to who gave such powers to KCR to remove the sarpanches, who were directly elected by the people. He alleged that KCR was acting like a dictator.
