KCR Realises Futility Of Delhi!

At a time when all the political parties in Andhra Pradesh, primarily the Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress party, took their battle to Delhi demanding special category status to the state, Telangana Rashtra Samithi decided to stop their fight in Delhi.

TRS president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is learnt to have asked his party MPs – both from Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha – to return to Hyderabad, as their fight for increased reservations to minorities, SCs, STs and OBCs in and outside Parliament did not yield any result.

“The BJP government at the Centre has been insensitive to our demand. We tried to stall the Parliament in the initial few days highlighting our demand. It led to the impression that we are helping the BJP in preventing the no-confidence motion against the Centre coming up. Now, there is no point in staying in Delhi as the Centre does not have any intention to grant our demand,” KCR is learnt to have told his party MPs.

He asked them to return to their respective constituencies and focus on consolidating the TRS vote bank by next elections.

The TRS chief also deferred his plans to visit New Delhi in the first week of April to step up his plans for the formation of federal front.

But having seen his Andhra counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu camping there for two days and meeting all the party leaders, he realised that his purpose of visiting Delhi would not be served at least now.

He might make a visit to Delhi in the third of week April, a few days before the party plenary so that he could mobilise the support of some parties.
