KCR Pleases JD (S), Avoids Cong!

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is a shrewd politician, who can change his strategies depending on his political exigencies.

It has once again been proved on Tuesday when he sought to please Janata Dal (S), a key partner in his federal front plan, without having to attend the swearing-in ceremony of JD (S) leader H D Kumara Swamy on Wednesday.

Even as the media persons and political pundits were keeping their fingers crossed on whether KCR would attend Kumara Swamy’s oath taking ceremony, he suddenly decided to flow down to Bengaluru on Tuesday evening itself to congratulate the CM-designate. He left for the Karnataka capital in a special flight in the evening.

A statement from the chief minister’s office said KCR left for Bengaluru to congratulate Kumara Swamy personally on his swearing-in as new Karnataka CM on Wednesday.

“In view of important engagements on Wednesday, the chief minster will return to Hyderabad on Tuesday night itself,” the statement said.

Obviously, KCR was not interested in attending the ceremony, because it was essentially a Congress-dominated government in Karnataka, though technically Kumara Swamy will be the chief minister.

Moreover, he would have to share the dais with Congress bosses Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, whom he does not want to face.

But since KCR does not want to displease JD (S) leaders by avoiding the swearing-in ceremony, he has decided to go to Bengaluru a day in advance to greet Kumara Swamy.

What an idea KCR ji!
