The Telangana government headed by K Chandrasekhar Rao has now got one more opportunity to nail his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu in the alleged eve-teasing episode involving Ravela Sushil, son of AP Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu.
The Banjara Hills police, who had filed Nirbhaya case against Sushil, deliberately leaked the closed circuit television footage to media. The CCTV footage clearly showed that Ravela, who was in fact driving the car, chased the woman victim in his car and tried to drag her into the vehicle. Apparently, he tried to abduct her.
Though Sushil tried to escape saying that he was only trying to save the woman from a dog, no such dog was visible in the video footage and that he was clearly trying to hold the woman with his hand.
Initially, the Banjara Hills police tried to hush up the case by not mentioning Sushil’s name in the FIR and wrongly mentioning the name of driver as Appa Rao, instead of Ramesh. But with instructions from “above,” the police intensified the probe on Saturday and filed the case against the AP minister’s son. The CCTV footage provided conclusive evidence to nail the AP government.
So far, Naidu did not react on the issue, while Kishore Babu said it would come under the purview of the Telangana government and he won’t interfere in the case.
Though some TDP sections sought to use the Dalit card in the issue, they did not dare to do so, because the victim is a Muslim women and it might snowball into a communal issue. For now, KCR government has got yet another chance to nail the Naidu government!
