Junior NTR Talk By Cadre Irritates Naidu

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu had to face the most embarrassing moment when there was a vociferous demand from the party workers that he should name Junior N T Rama Rao as the head of the party in Telangana.

While some of the party workers wanted that Naidu depute his son Lokesh Naidu or daughter-in-law Brahmani to lead the party in Telangana, majority of the party workers raised slogans in support of Junior NTR.

“We want NTR, we want NTR,” shouted the party workers, even as a visibly embarrassed Naidu tried to pacify them.

A TDP worker openly said the party should have a strong leaders in Telangana, as there is a serious bankruptcy of leadership.

While majority of the senior leaders left the party, those who are heading the party are just incapable to take on KCR.

“We need a charismatic leader like NTR to put up a big fight in the state and enthuse the party workers,” a TDP worker told media after the meeting.

The party cadre was not happy when Naidu said the TDP would have to have an alliance with another party in the next elections.

Several workers showed placards demanding that the party be strengthened in the Telangana state and wanting that Junior NTR should be made the party chief in the Telangana region and should give it able leadership.

Naidu, however, did not relish the party cadre taking the name of NTR, who he has been keeping at bay for several years. Though he wanted to ignore the demand, he could not do so because of the continuous shouting from the cadre.

“You have to develop the leadership form within yourselves and should not depend on a person from my family,” Naidu said.
