The YSR Congress party is understood to have finalised the names of former MLA Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas alias Nani and former TDP leader Gangula Prabhakar Reddy in the MLC elections under the MLAs’ quota.
YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has already approved the name of Alla Nani, who unsuccessfully contested the 2014 Assembly elections form Eluru on YSRC ticket.
On the other hand, Gangula Prabhakar Reddy recently defected from the TDP to the YSR Congress party after he was given assurance that he would be made an MLC.
Gangula family has a lot of support in Nandyal area and has traditional rivalry with local MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
Since Bhuma has joined the TDP, Gangula has chosen the YSRC to settle scores with Bhuma. So, Jagan needs the Gangula family to take on Bhuma. Hence, the ticket to Gangula.
