It’s one thing to make tall claims and another thing to act upon them. Before the 2014 general elections, Pawan Kalyan campaigned for the BJP-TDP alliance and at that time he was critical of KCR.
He even said that if KCR misbehaved while in power, he would see to it that he behaved. Even Chandra Babu Naidu made quite a few statements against KCR. To cut a long story short, now KCR is the CM of Telangana. He is in power with absolute majority.
And owing to Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu’s belligerent behavior, the people hailing from Andhra are facing hardships in Telangana.
In fact, the Andhra Pradesh government is relegated to work from make-shift offices without a proper base. It has to be noted here that Hyderabad is the common capital of both Telugu-speaking states for a decade. Yet, they are being looked upon as outsiders and every single day is posing a new problem.
Also, KCR issued orders to raze down some constructions on Gurukul Trust lands which led to public outrage. When all this was happening, both Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu maintained stoic silence.
Now, the latest issue to rattle students is the fee reimbursement controversy. KCR is adamant that he will not pay students with Andhra roots.
He says Telangana people don’t owe Andhra people any monies and hence he will not extend the fee reimbursement facility to all students.
He has a special clause which says that only students whose families have lived in Telangana since 1956 will be eligible for fee reimbursement. Once again, Chandra Babu and Pawan Kalyan are not making any noise.
Many feel KCR’s rules and regulations are a direct consequence of the past actions of Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu Naidu.
It is important that Pawan Kalyan takes a clear stand and questions the arbitrary acts of KCR. Instead, he conveniently chose to disappear from public domain. So, now the big question is, is Pawan a man of words or a man of action?
