Amidst this, another factor emerged that gave them cause for celebration: an individual attempting to take all the credit for the Congress' success through a credit-grabbing scheme.
The media hastily highlighted Sunil Kanugolu as the mastermind behind the Congress' victory in Karnataka, bringing his name to the forefront. However, it is important to note that Sunil Kanugolu, hailing from Bangalore, has Telugu roots, and his support lies with the TDP.
Following the Congress' win in Karnataka, paid articles started appearing in national and Telugu media, promoting Sunil's role. The question arises: is there any truth to Sunil's involvement in Karnataka, or is this just an impulsive narrative adopted by the national media?
The underlying motive behind this narrative is to attribute the success of the Karnataka Congress to a member of a particular community, as propagated by the yellow media.
It is worth noting that Chandrababu would not distance himself if there were any substance to Sunil's involvement.
One version suggests that Sunil briefly worked for TRS but could not align with KCR, prompting his move to TDP. As his services were not considered valuable by the party, he then joined Telangana Congress and attempted to make some noise.
However, fearing action from the TRS government, he fled to Karnataka and aligned himself with the Congress. Now that the party has won, he is taking credit, following the adage, "Success has many fathers, failure is an orphan."
