Vijayawada is one of the major cities in Andhra Pradesh. Even before the state was bifurcated, Vijayawada was one of the popular cities in the united Andhra Pradesh.
Speculations are strong that Vijayawada might become the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
However, industrialists doesn't seems to be interested in Vijayawada or its surrounding places.
Instead, most of them are preferring Ananthapur, Kurnool, Vishakhapatnam, East Godavari and Chittoor etc to set up their industries.
Reports say that these industrialists doesn't want to set up their companies in Krishna and West Godavari districts.
Companies like Godrej Company Limited has indicated its interest to set up a manufacturing unit in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs 400 crore.
Sources close to the state government office revealed that officials are asking the industrialists to check the lands apart from Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari, because if the capital city is built within these districts, other region people might feel that they are left out.
This is the reason why most of the companies are stating that they are interested to setup their companies in districts other than Guntur, Krishna and West Godavari.
