Governor Is Pro-Telangana?

Despite recent unilateral decisions of KCR such as the one to raze the existing secretariat, conducting an Eamcet separately, freezing the bank accounts of Andhra Pradesh institutions or Telangana drawing excess water from Srisailam etc, not a single word of caution has been uttered by the Governor.

Take the secretariat issue for example. It belongs to both AP and Telangana for a period of ten years. Yet, how can the Telangana government alone take a decision to raze it and construct a new one at Erragadda.

The Governor as per the AP Reorganization Act has been vested with the authority to act as judge. Yet, every time that an issue crops up, he remains a mute spectator to the proceedings. To his credit, he did manage to get Chandrababu and KCR together a couple of times. Nothing has come of those visits.

Even during the Eamcet issue, he was believed to have asked AP to follow the stand taken by Telangana. Inaction on the part of the Governor on important issues gives rise to the feeling among Andhra people that the Governor is pro-Telangana.

In that case, AP would be better off taking its disputes to the Center rather than discussing them with the Governor.
