Galla Jayadev's Return Blocked by Lokesh?

Galla Jayadev's Return Blocked by Lokesh?

Questions are now being raised about the political whereabouts of former MP Galla Jayadev.

After the YSR Congress Party came to power in Andhra Pradesh, Jayadev gradually faded from active politics.

While he represented the Guntur Lok Sabha constituency, he was notably absent during the Amaravati farmers’ protests. Even when TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was jailed, Jayadev remained passive.

Notably, when his own father was arrested, it was Nara Lokesh who travelled to Delhi to consult legal experts and handle the Supreme Court case.

TDP sources claim that Jayadev’s lack of initiative at the time disappointed Lokesh, causing friction between the two.

Eventually, Galla Jayadev officially announced his withdrawal from politics. He was replaced by Dr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, who is now serving as a Union Minister.

Interestingly, shortly after the TDP-led alliance returned to power, Jayadev reportedly met with Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh, expressing his desire to become politically active once again.

However, sources suggest that Lokesh, still displeased with Jayadev’s lack of support during the party’s difficult times in Delhi, is not keen on bringing him back into the party fold.

As a result, Jayadev has almost vanished from the political scene.

It’s worth noting that he began his political journey with the TDP as the successor to his mother, Galla Aruna, and won twice from Guntur. Despite being a non-local, he succeeded largely due to caste support.

Now, with the Galla family focused on preserving their massive business empire, political re-entry seems to have taken a back seat.

According to his close associates, Jayadev stepped away from politics to avoid becoming a target of political vendettas in the changed landscape.

Though he did attempt to return later, the lack of a positive response from TDP leadership reportedly pushed him into silence once again.
