If speculations doing rounds in the media circles are to be believed, Karnataka mining tycoon and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy is trying to rope YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy into the fold of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by Bharatiya Janata Party.
Gali, who has been staying away from active politics ever since he was arrested in the Obulapuram mining case being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation, is now back with a bang in politics now.
Though he says he won’t contest the next elections in Karnataka, he expressed his loyalty to the BJP and declared that he would make all out efforts to bring the BJP to power in Karnataka, besides AP and Telangana.
Apparently, he surrendered himself to the BJP leadership at the Centre and might get out of the CBI case very soon.
At the same, he reportedly promised the BJP central leadership that he would bring Jagan also into the NDA fold, as the YSRC has all the potential to come to power in AP in 2019 elections.
He reportedly convinced Jagan to extend a friendly hand to the BJP so that he could come out of the alleged quid pro quo cases foisted against the latter by the CBI.
May be the recent meeting of Jagan with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has anything to do with the advice of Gali, say sources.
