Eenadu Empire Crumbling?

It looks like Eenadu is gradually losing its glory after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

The management of the daily, headed by great media baron Ch Ramoji Rao, has started pruning the editions and even the staff to scale down the publications all over the State and the country.

According to inside information, the group has already stopped its full-fledged Delhi and Mumbai editions and is all set to restructure the local editions as well.

The Delhi and Mumbai editions are continuing only for name sake, but the pages are being made only in Hyderabad. The staff strength in Delhi has been reduced from 20 to just two – a senior correspondent and a junior. So is the case with Mumbai edition.

In Telangana, too, the Eenadu editions in every district are now being restructured so that there would be only one bureau for two or three districts. Most of the seniors have already been shown the door and the editions are being run with just middle-level persons. And the entire office is being shifted from Somajiguda to Ramoji Film City.

All these steps are expected to save huge money for Ramoji Rao. One does not know whether he is really in financial crisis or has realised that his son might not be able to run the mighty media empire in the coming years.
